Concept:
The campaign humanizes the brand with real life stories promoting Yara’s sustainability agenda and the benefits of their fertilizer solutions.
Target audience:
French, German, English, Mexican and Italian farmers
Aim:
Yara’s ambition is to be the crop nutrition company for the future. Based on this ambition and on key farmer insights such as the wish to ensure a sustainable future for the next generations of farmers, a creative concept was developed to guide all executions of Yara Nitrate-Based Solutions campaign.
Tonality:
The farmers struggle, hopes and dreams establish the emotional connection.

Behind the Camera
Two Film crews in Scotland
The campaign should establish a stronger emotional connection with the farmers.
In the casting process we went to Wales and Scotland to visit the pre-selected farms. Both farms had a beautiful scenery, but we choose Fearn Farm in Scotland, because the two oldest children already were passionated about taking over Fearn Farm one day.
Two film crews followed the mother, the father and the two oldest children in their daily work at the farm for three days.

The French farmer Éric Delorme, 51, tell in his own words about the struggles a farmer has but also about the freedom he feels. A personal speech to the next generation; his 21year old son Maxime Delorme.

Growers for the Future
Sustainability Film
The young farmer Miguel Hernández’ biggest focus is the long-term sustainability of crops of their family farm. Since he was 5 years he has followed his dad, today at 19 years old his father has taught him everything about running the farm so he one day can take over and keep it sustainable and compliant with environmental responsibilities. Yara’s products are key to ensuring that this is possible.

Profitibility Film
The farmer Martín Hernández Sánchez makes a living growing maize, lime and agave at his 544 hectare farm in Mexico. Remaining profitable to ensure that the farm can be passed on to the next generation is a key driver for Martín. Since he started using Yara products back in 2016, Martín has sworn by their results.

Efficiency Film
The film portrays Francisco Ramírez España, a Yara agronomist in Mexico who has followed the Hernández family over the last 6 years and seen how efficiency has improved their farm through time. Francisco’s advice and knowledge has made the Hernández farm more efficient and more profitable by using Yara’s nitrate-based solutions.

Yara’s ambition is focused on growing a climate positive food future that creates value for their customers, and delivers a more sustainable food value chain. Based on this ambition and on key farmer insights such as the wish to ensure a sustainable future for the next generations of farmers, a creative concept was developed to guide all executions of Yara Nitrate-Based Solutions campaign.
Tonality:
Martin’s vulnerable yet hopeful story establishes an emotional connection with the audience.

Behind the camera
When creating the films for the “Growers for the Future” campaign, the film crew visited the Hernández family in Mexico, portrayed their daily lives and how Yara’s products have an impact on them. The campaign was made to promote the offering and benefits of Yara’s nitrate-based products, that have both profitability and sustainability benefits that naturally influence farmers’ decisions towards a more sustainable future. By combining the Yara products and a personal story from farmers using Yara’s products for years, the campaign aims to retain and attract future farmers.
